first moisture causes mold if not properly dried not ashes and second if you steam clean the area it will let up rather easily and wont stain the carpet even if left for a while.

Vacuum with the brush head and if the carpet is a bit grey, use a steam cleaner.

Vacume first. Then get a clean white towel, dampen the towel. Now grab the scrubbing bubbles spray it on the spot, wait a minutes, now start dabbing and maybe a light rub with towel untill the spot is gone. You may need 2 towel depending on size of stain.

Hi
I would recommend using a wet vac and slowly pour hot water (almost to the boiling point) on the spot and vacuum it up at the same time (this will open up the dye ports on the carpet fibre releasing the stain. and remove the residue from the carpet). If the stain is still visible than use a little carpet spotter on it or Dawn dishwashing liquid (2 or 3 drops into one cup of water) and repeat step 1. The stain may come back in a few days so you may have to do this a few times. Please DO NOT put anything on the carpet that was not made for carpet. At this point if the stain is still there please call a carpet cleaner.

If it has occured, immediately take a vacuum cleaner and clean. You will not have any problems if you will make it immediately!

5. Try to mix a little oxy clean in some warm water and pour or spray it on the stain. Wait a few minutes and scrub it with a clean wet cloth. It should help, if not… maybe it would be better to get a professional to do this one.
