try using saddle soap, it softens the leather while gently cleaning it

cheap shaving cream. If it's good for your face it's okay for a cow's hide.

Lexol makes very good leather cleaning products. Use a microfiber and apply the cleaner and then wipe it off really good with another microfiber.
Optional is the use of the conditioner.
